We are sooo pleased to have Adam as our guest! Adam got into running 10 years ago and owns an amazing FKT!

So if you want to know Adam's top 3 running tips, his favourite trainers & his dream race then read his blog post

Thanks so much Adam for joining in with our blog ❤️

How long have you been running for and how did you originally get into it?

I started running about 10 years ago now. I initially started as I wanted to run a Tough Mudder for charity following my successful spinal surgery to remove a fibroma (tumour) related to my neurofibromatosis from my spinal cord, which had been causing issues with my left side. It's now my way to not allow my condition to limit me and I want to keep pushing to see what my mind and body are capable of.

Where is your favourite place to run?

My favourite place to run is the Lake District, you just can't beat being surrounded by that much natural beauty on a run.

What are your top 3 running tips?

Don't try and run a pb every day, slow down and enjoy some easy runs.

Strength training and hill work will really help.

Audiobooks and podcasts are great for your long runs.

What is your running schedule and how do you fit it into your life?

I try to run about 6 days a week with Mondays as a rest day. I have to start early to get in before work as I know I struggle to go out again after I get home.

Tuesday - Friday will generally be 10-15k with one interval session.

Saturday 20k with a warm up, tempo, cool down. Then long run Sunday.

What’s your favourite running shoe and why?

The Inov-8 Trailfly 270 G. It's the perfect balance of cushion, grip and ground feel for a long day on the trails.

What is your greatest running achievement?

Back in 2020 I set the FKT on the 195 mile Hertfordshire Way.

What is your dream race?

My dream race would be the western states 100.

Who are you running inspirations and why?

Killian Journet for his ability to adapt to do many different environments.

Damian Hall for his attitude and commitment to a good cup of tea.

What’s your favourite happystride pattern and why?

Although I have quite the collection now I'm still rather partial to "Peely-Cool" they were my first pair and are a classic.

If you could design the next pair of shorts, what pattern would you choose and why

I think Cow print could be really cool.

Wow, thank you so much Adam for joining us and answering our questions! Stay tuned for our next 'inspiring striding' blog in our series where we will have another inspiring guest!
